The International figure skating competition "Sarajevo Open 2018" was held from 1st to 4th March this year at the Olympic hall "Juan Antonio Samaranch" (Zetra), and was organized by the Association of Skating Sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
125 contestants from 15 countries: Turkey, Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia, Austria, Germany, Italy, Finland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, United Arab Emirates, Belarus and Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in this competition. The panel consisted of 10 international judges and controllers / specialists, including the chairman and vice-president of the Austrian Skating Association, the leader of the Golden German Team at the just completed Olympics in South Korea and the senior official of the International Union of Skaters.
From this year Bosnia and Herzegovina has a complete domestic panel of judges, as well as the latest judging equipment.
Most gold medals were won by Turkey, whose performers also brought cup of Sarajevo Open, next to their medals won in Ankara.
Our representatives had a good performance. The performance of our junior Alma Šehić (11th) and Neira Kiso (13th), Zara Husedžinović, who took the 14th position in the category of Basic Novice A II, and Lajla Mučić, who was 5th in the category of Chicks Girls and Hena Uzunovic who was 8th in the category of Cubs Girls.
The organization received the praise of participants and international judges who were thankful for their hospitality and expressed their wish to participate next year.
This year's Sarajevo Open also served as a test competition for EYOF 2019.
